My Funny Valentine

Happy Valentines Day from my sweet husband @mikecheathamfishing! I am the proud owner of a Hobie Compass from Caney Fork Outdoors! Can you knit in a kayak?😀 #hobie #hobiecat #caneyfork #knitinakayak #ilovemyhusband #bass #kayakbassfishing #kayakfishing #kayak

My Valentine

Waiting for my favorite fisherman @mikecheathamfishing to get home and get his Valentines Day present, complete with dorky homemade card and yellow rubber ducky! He always supports my knitting, my Etsy store, and all my trips to @yarnasylum ! I guess you could say he supports my knitting yarn and I support his fisherman’s yarns. There’s also a homemade brown sugar, caramel cheesecake waiting at home! I love him 😍 #valentinesday #fishing #kayakfishing #knitting #knitstagram […]

So, got home from teaching Knitting 101 at @yarnasylum today ( which was SO much fun!), and had a box in the mailbox. To my surprise, there was a a box from @poststitch? When did I order this?! I didn’t… it’s a surprise from @jenluvsfalls! What?! Knitting notions in the mail?! Yeah!!! Great notions from @heidiandlana, @tempestryproject #knittinginspiration #knitstagram #knittersofinstagram #knitting #knitlove

I usually have a pair of knitting needles in my hand. I am new to weaving… just for my @schacht_spindle_company Cricket loom for Christmas ( love my hubby, @mikecheathamfishing)! This is my first project after the sample yarn that came with the loom. With great support from the weavers at @yarnasylum and @casanova_kelly_weaver YouTube videos, I feel like it’s coming along pretty well. The warp was 4 yards long, and that was an accomplishment in […]

Design Contest

The Spring 2018 edition of TKGA Cast On is out today. Third place in the 2017 design contest is the Hug Around the Neck cowl that I named for my grandson. I was so excited to be recognized for doing something that I love so much! As stated in the article, the cowl is made with Kraemer Perfection yarn, Knitter’s Pride needles, and with the great support of the Yarn Asylum in Clarksville! #knittersofinstagram #knitting […]

Emmy’s Woobie

My little granddaughter, Emmy, sleeping with her woobie. I had never knitted with toothpicks (really Clover Takumi bamboo size 1 needles, but oh so small!). Found the Wonderland Yarns Cheshire Cat 5-mini-skein pack in colorway Lights Pt1 at a VYS (vacation yarn store) and loved it. It’s my own pattern and is lined with some custom minky I had made at Spoonflower. I love being Bomma! #knitting #knittersofinstagram #knitstagram #knittinglove #spoonflower #wonderlandyarns #wonderlandyarnscheshirecat #cloverknittingneedles

Penny, the owner of my local Yarn Store (LYS), sometimes posts articles and editorials about the value of an LYS over online and big-box stores. For those of us who frequent our LYS, we get it! But if you buy your yarn and supplies elsewhere, you might think a post like that is just about the bottom line for a business owner. It’s not. My LYS, the Yarn Asylum, is a gathering of friends, a […]

Knitting 101

I had so much fun teaching knitting on Saturday. We had a great group, and everyone did so good. Here are some brief notes and a few illustrations I made on the things we covered. Cast On Wrap yarn around needle 10 times; use this to estimate length of tail needed for 10 stitches (multiply by 3 for this project). Add 6”. Start with a loop around your needle or a slipknot. Wrap the yarn […]
